June 2020: We were proud to be a part of IBEW 654‘s food drive last month along with IBEW Local Union 98IBEW Local 269, & Delaware County Lodge No 27 FOP. Thanks to the donations from our members, we were able to contribute to this very successful drive which included 30 pickup truck loads of food & supplies for 7 food pantries & $15,000 to help those facing food insecurity in our communities. One food pantry alone said these donations helped feed “45 families, 15 veterans and 15 seniors.”

2020 Member Giving Campaign:
Camp Out For Hunger Virtual Food Drive

Our 2020 Member Giving Campaign will be participating in Preston & Steve’s 23rd Annual Camp Out For Hunger directly benefiting Philabundance.

Just like everything else in 2020, our collection will look a little different this year. Instead of collecting nonperishable foods, we will be doing a virtual fundraiser via Philabundance. From Sunday, November 1 – Friday, November 13, you can make a virtual donation* on our Philabundance virtual food drive site.

Throughout this week, check out our social media for our #CountdownToCampOut posts to learn more about Philabundance & the need of those in our communities.

Why such specific dates if Camp Out is later in November? This year, IBEW 614 is taking part in the Camp Out Business Challenge!
What’s that? This is a friendly competition with local businesses, organizations, and groups.
What’s in it for 614? Besides the warm fuzzy feeling of knowing how many local families we’re helping during such a difficult year, there are some perks for those that collect the most (see below)!

Camp Out Business Challenge incentives:

  • The largest donation wins a live broadcast from The Preston & Steve Show.
  • 2nd largest gets a live broadcast from Pierre Robert at your place of business.
  • 3rd largest gets a $20,000 advertising schedule for Q1 of 2021 on 93.3 WMMR.

Within just a few short weeks in 2019, we were able to collect 3,997 pounds of nonperishable food and $910 that went directly to Philabundance. Food insecurity throughout the Delaware Valley has drastically increased this year. Thank you for your support 2019. Let’s make our 2020 impact even bigger.
